Since the extinction of bees farmers needed to pollinize blossoms by hand. This labor intensive task was hard to keep up, taking in account that the US as well as the global populations have doubled and much more people need to be fed. A agriculture think tank, has reached out to Californias biggest industry in order to cope the problem: The computer and electronics manufacturing industry. Together they have developed the Autonomous Pollination Drone. Whole swarms of these AFO’s (autonomous flying objects) are in use by now.
